FAQ
How do I convert roof pitch to degrees?
Degrees = arctan(rise ÷ run) × 180/π. For X/12 pitch, rise/run = X/12. Example: 6/12 → arctan(0.5) ≈ 26.57°. Percent slope = (rise ÷ run) × 100.
What is 4/12 pitch in degrees?
4/12 → arctan(4/12) ≈ 18.43°, and about 33.3% slope. Use the calculator chips to flip between common pitches.
